Congratulations Mr. President!!!!!!

President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize and I am very happy for him and for us!!!!

President Obama way to go, this is a much deserved honor. Even if some ignorant, nearsighted, ego maniacs in our own country can't, don't and won't recognize it, the world does. You are the best!!!!

God Bless America and God Bless you and your family.

Until we meet again Natasha Richardson!

I've been too upset the last few days over the devastating news that Natasha Richardson has past away to really be able to properly convey my sentiments. I know that I can still see the brilliance of her smile lighting up the sky.

It is hard to dispel that she was taken from us so abruptly and much to soon. Natasha Richardson, was as earnest and true as she appeared. A women that fans could say honestly loved them back. Our lives will never be the same.

On behalf of your fans worldwide we love you and are eternally grateful for allowing us to share your life with us.

My heartfelt condolences go out to her family.

Okay, I understand that I hardly ever blog. . .okay, closer to never than hardly, but after watching the new "How I Met Your Mother" episode tonight, I definitely need to share something with everyone. Not often does a sitcom bring me to tears--well if you don't count ROFL at "Two and a Half Men" or "Big Bang Theory"--but, "HIMYM" did it for me tonight.

It was one of those run of the mill wacky episodes where Marshall and Lily show us yet another one of their ludicrous, lovey dovey, quirky traditions--don't get me wrong, I'm a romantic, which is why I cried, it's just that it was so unexpected.

Agreeing that there is no need for Marshall to pick her up at the airport any longer, Lily is disappointed when she arrives and he isn't there. Marshall, remembering how things have changed and how they have become hum drum, surprises her with a musical welcome. (I don't want to spoil it for anyone by giving away the actual circumstances.)

I'm very partial to Airport scenes, having written so many into my books, but this one will be my number one! "HIMYM" writers you are great!

We are family!

It must be the best time of year, I managed to get my son and my brother to sit down for a family picture. "Why do we need another picture?", "Hurry up and take the damn shot.", I'm not taking off my glasses." Could there have been more complaints? Actually, there could have, but none of them bothered me. After all its part of being a family and patience and understanding are what it means to be a part of a family. I wouldn't change mine for a million others.

In this age of designer children and looking for Mr. Goodbar, I can honestly say that my happiness is earnest. It’s not about settling, but accepting. I say this because if our beliefs are established by our upbringing, i.e. our family, and they establish our values, which in turn mold our attitudes, then why are so many individuals unhappy with their lives?

Of course, competition and striving for excellence is good, but if that leads you down a path that isn’t making you happy, then why continue?

You can get up and make things happen, or you can accept and learn to love the people and world around you. Is working for a better life really a better life? Isn’t it true that he who dies with the most toys still dies?

Ideals should come in the form of ethics, morals and values. Not a Norman Rockwell family. You can’t choose the family you’re born into so why fight it, love it.

Happy Holidays Richard.

Friends

The truth, when you have family and friends--that are like your family--you have it all! I am always thanking the powers that be for both. I have been blessed.

As someone who is very spiritual, believing in destiny and the higher powers, I will always respect the wisdom conveyed via that valued American tradition, the Fortune Cookie. Today's cookie was, as always, right on the money, "A true friend walks in when the rest of the world walks out." Its confirmed! If only Joss Whedon could have that kind of insight!
